Cantatas

Bach

Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir       Ton Koopman - conductor

"Bach is a genius capable of applying both reason and emotion to his music whilst maintaining a superb balance between the two. 'Bach the architect' is one of my favourite descriptions of him because he can grip the heart with a single harmony." Passion, commitment, sensitivity, finesse, rich colours, energy… How does one describe the twenty-year relationship between Ton Koopman and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach? Koopman has created his own record label on which to document the complete cantatas of Bach; he returns to Ambronay with three cantatas which showcase the rich orchestral and choral colours of the ensembles which he founded.

Cantatas BWV 127, BWV 140, BWV 147.
