Joël Suhubiette - conductor
Beyond cultures and religions, here is a journey along the coast of the Mediterranean, accompanied by the singular and sensitive voice of one of the most prominent French choral groups, the chamber choir Les Éléments conducted by Joël Suhubiette. In Hebrew, Latin, Aramaic and ancient Greek, this anthology leads us through several centuries, from the fourteenth-century Livre Vermeil de Monserrat to Petrassi's Tre cori sacri written in the 1980s; from Gesualdo's Tenebrae Responsories to contemporary works by Zad Moultaka and Alexandros Markeas, without forgetting the sublime Crucifixus by Lotti. A moment of emotion and of sharing.
Extracts from the Livre Vermeil du Monserrat ('The Red Book of Montserrat'). Ancient and modern polyphonic works by Salomone Rossi, Antonio Lotti, Goffredo Petrassi, Alexandros Markeas, Tomas Luis de Victoria, Carlo Gesualdo, Zad Moultaka.
