MÉDITERRANÉE(S) - Festival 2010
La Voce di Corelli
Fabio Bonizzoni
Grand master of the violin, celebrated throughout Europe for the developments he brought to the then still new forms of the sonata and concerto, admired by Bach, Couperin and Handel, Corelli gave birth to the era of the modern violin and orchestra. While his instrumental works have endured in the mainstream repertoire, the vocal adaptations, although popular at the time, are today little known. In a programme conceived around Corelli's Op.3 & 4, Fabio Bonizzoni invites us to discover them.
