MÉDITERRANÉE(S) - Festival 2010
Hopkinson Smith
Looking far back in time to the vihuela and the lute, Hopkinson Smith summons the virtuosic, fantastical, poignant and dignified moods of Spain and Italy through two of the greatest innovators of the sixteenth century. Luys Milan became famous for his work El Maestro, and Franceso da Milano was the pampered prodigy of princes, emperors and popes, and nicknamed 'Il divino'. An enchanting recital transporting us from the Renaissance to the banks of Valencia's age of gold, towards the Po valley and the soaring and harmonious architecture of Milan.
